Row 2 –  purl

Row 3 –*k,p,k,k* repeat

For the first stitch of every row, slip the stitch (knit or purl depending on what the pattern states)

BO

You are then going to fold the blanket in half, with the right side facing out.  You will then sew the sides up.  You can just simply sew from the inside so no seams are showing, or I used a mattress stitch, I followed off of you tube.

Sew in the loose ends

·       Once again you can use any pattern to make this blanket, just make sure it matches the other cradle and keepsake blanket.  Where I have decreased in rows, you should as well, to make a nice gradual decrease for the blanket

Keepsake Blanket

Yarn:  Dk weight. I used Bernat Softee Baby

Needles:  USD 6, 4mm

CO 24 sts (for different patterns I have added more stitches depending on length I wanted.

I found you can use any pattern you would like, but make it pretty.  I used a 4 row repeat, with a slip first stitch to prevent the blanket from curling.

Pattern:

Row 1-  *k,k,k,p*

Row 2- purl

Row 3 – *k,p,k,k*

Row 4 - purl

BO and sew in loose ends.

Follow the pattern, until the blanket measures 3x3.  I usually repeated 5 times.

Abbreviations:

BO – bind off

K – knit

P - purl
