Community change doesn’t happen by accident; it happens because people show up. And the Rotaract Club of Barrie has done exactly that.
At the 8th Annual Bridget’s Run, a team of 10 dedicated Barrie Rotaract volunteers came out to lend their energy and support. But their involvement didn’t stop there. From Bunny Making events in December to the 2nd Annual Golf Simulator Tournament this March, Barrie Rotaract members continue to be a steady, compassionate presence behind the scenes.
One of those volunteers is Vanessa, the current President of Barrie Rotaract. For her, volunteering is a natural extension of the life she’s built, one grounded in connection, community, and care. “I love staying active, meeting new people, and volunteering in my community,” she shares.
Vanessa first connected with Bridget’s Bunnies through Rotaract, a volunteer club for individuals aged 18–35. Over her three years with the organization, she’s discovered something powerful: the ability to both learn and lead while supporting local causes that matter. When asked what she would say to others considering getting involved, Vanessa doesn’t hesitate: “I would highly recommend volunteering with Bridget’s Bunnies and being open to learning about the important work they do. Their run is an amazing event to be a part of, and bunny making at their office is such a warm, feel-good experience.”
Partnerships like the one between Barrie Rotaract and Bridget’s Bunnies show what’s possible when passionate people come together with a shared purpose.
