Bridget’s Bunnies nears $100K goal ahead of annual run in Barrie
Since 2018, Bridget’s Bunnies Pregnancy and Infant Loss Foundation has been a mainstay in our community – supporting and bringing families together in times of crisis.
For the past eight years, the charity has hosted Bridget’s Run, a five-kilometre walk or run with a 1-km bunny hop for the littles.
This year’s in-person and virtual event will take place Saturday, Oct. 18 at Centennial Beach Park in downtown Barrie (and virtually). Opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m, and the run starts at 10:20 a.m.
Funds raised through Bridget’s Run support the Bridget’s Bunnies Comfort Kit Program, and individuals and families who experience pregnancy or infant loss.
“We are at 80 per cent of our fundraising goal of $100,000 this year – all of which will go back to the program. But we can’t do it alone – we need your help to spread the word, donate, and come out in support of these families,” said race director and development co-ordinator Mary Skwarek.
This year’s event has over 750 participants registered already, with room for more. Registration for the 2025 Bridget’s Run is still open. Volunteers will also be on site on Oct. 18 in Barrie to facilitate last-minute registrations and donations.
